Shana tagged me... so I'm it!!

Okay, I guess I'm it. I have to come up with seven little known facts about myself. Which is pretty hard, considering I feel like I'm an open book.

1. I'm very inarticulate. I really struggle for the right word or phrasing (especially in class) and I think I sound dumb a lot.

2. I really love to have all the new gadgets and gizmos that come out, but when I get one I really only know how to use one or two features. And I'm too lazy to sit and look through the owner's manual!!

3. I hate traffic so much I compose letters to Caltrans and the Sacramento City Gov't as I drive. They're always mean and hateful, but as soon as I get to my destination it's over.

4. If I didn't have family here, I think I'd move out of California. I don't really like the culture, the politics, the housing costs or the weather.

5. I hate the sound of people eating. I get very annoyed at noisy eaters.

6. I have three reoccuring dreams: 1) I'm trying to drive a car from the back seat, 2) I'm standing in front of my class completely unprepared, with no lesson plans and 3) my teeth fall out and I try to shove them back in but they keep coming.

7. I think I'm on the slobby side because I'm a perfectionist. I'm not willing to halfway do something (like mopping my floors, for instance) so I'd just rather not do them at all. Or at least that's what I tell myself.

I didn't know you weren't in love with California, I always thought you wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Sandro and I sometimes dream of moving to Wyoming or another slower, mountain state with lots of lakes and natural (and low housing costs). When we what "House Virgins" or "My First House" and they're purchasing in North Carolina, Wyoming, Ohio or some other state, we're blown away by the amazing house they get for such a low price! It kills us. So maybe we'll all retire to a lakehouse in Wyoming together (least population in the U.S).

And you know what's wierd, last year I had that teeth dream ALL the time. I wonder what it means. And I've told myself the same thing as #7. Wierd.

teeth dreams are pretty significant/common. I'm not sure what they represent, but they're in all the dream books!

I have the teeth dream every once in a while too! I thought it meant that you were worried about your appearance or something like that... Glad you did the post Carrie it was fun to read! :)

I feel like posting!

I haven't posted in awhile, and I still have no pictures to share, but I thought I'd put a few words down anyway. (Let me take that back, I have pictures to share, but I'm not the in-love-with-my-pregnant-body type, so any picture you see of me will be from the neck up.) Last night we took Christmas photos at my parent's house for their Christmas cards. (Again, I was seen only from the neck up:) ) It was so much fun. I forget how much fun my family has when we're all together. She's here!

Scarlett Eve Valdes was born Saturday, February 17th at 10:34 AM. She was 8 lbs, .02 oz and 20 inches long!! It was a pretty awful labor, for both of us... I went into labor Thursday night, got sent home, and then at noon the next day realized that this was serious!! I waited until Juan got home from work and then we went to the hospital around 3:00 PM. I was in pretty heavy labor from then until she was born the next morning. Not very fun! I ran a pretty bad (and unexplainable) temperature while in labor, I think I peaked at around 102 degrees. Because of this, the baby was wisked away to the nursery for observation. Luckily she does not have any signs of infection, but she does have jaundice, so they're keeping her under the blue lights. It's hard (hard being a mild term, it's the most awful thing I've ever experienced) being home without her but I know she's getting good care and hopefully she can come home soon. Scarlett's home!

In her little hospital bed. Scarlett Eve Valdes-- snoozing, as usual! Daddy and Scarlett (still in the hospital) Mommy and Scarlett (please ignore my huge head!) Nana and Scarlett Daddy and Scarlett again Finally going home!! yayy!! Scarlett came home from the hospital on Thursday night. We're soo happy to have her home, and she's proving her health by porking right up! She's put on two ounces since her birth weight and cries enough to let us know her lungs definitely work. We had a rocky night the first night, but last night she impressed us by sleeping straight through until 3 AM and then falling back asleep around 6 and letting us sleep in until 9. Not bad for her second night at home! We just can't get enough of her! Here's some pictures, not the best ones but hopefully more will come soon. (Once I work up the nerve to put her in cute outfits.
